Wow, I almost can't believe there's only two weeks until I get to share Moonflower with you! I am so nervous but so hyped to finally put these characters out into the world.
If we haven't already met before—Hi, my name is Dayna Ramos, and I am excited to share my post-apocalyptic book here for free on 10/13/25! I will be posting the first three chapters here on my website (plus the prologue, of course), then I will post a chapter every Monday after that, just to space out the story a bit. I am an artist, and though there probably won't be a fully colored illustration with every chapter post, there definitely will be some kind of art shared with each one! To combine these two passions of mine—writing and drawing—is something I very much look forward to.
As you might already know, I have never been very good about sharing my stories. Usually, I might talk a bit about an OC from this franchise or that, but I tend to be a bit cagey about the lore of these characters. I think it's because I always imagine I'll write their stories down eventually, but never do lol... That's why Moonflower is so special to me.
The idea of Moonflower came to me in 2023, but this time, I wasn't about to let the characters be sidelined into corny little thought experiments to help me to get sleep at night. Nope, this time I was actually going to write it—and I did. The draft was vague, but the bones were good, and something I could build on. I want to thank my sister Tia for indulging me and helping me develop these characters and this story, and my friend Max for being an amazing and ever-patient beta reader. I could never have gotten this far without either of you! And of course, thank you to everyone from Instagram who has encouraged me and already shown so much support for these OCs. It's kind of mind-boggling to think that other people care about these characters without even fully knowing them yet... It fills my heart to the fullest, thank you so much for all the love!
Mark your calendars, folks—Monday the 13th is the day Dayna Ramos overcomes the urge to gatekeep her own characters and actually posts it!
